Hi, I am Leah King (she/her), MS, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) with an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lebanon Valley College.
Every person has a story to tell, and I am here to emphatically listen to and support my clients as they navigate struggles, obstacles, and life transitions. I believe that when a person has the opportunity to openly share their story, paths of healing, inner strength, and personal growth are revealed.
We all have the ability and power to live a purposeful and fulfilling life. Sometimes, we can get a little lost navigating life’s twists and turns, and I am here to collaboratively help you find wellness by providing holistic and person-centered care.
I provide a judgment-free environment where clients can feel safe and heard. I want to learn about your unique story, and through that sharing, it can be explored. It is also important to me that you experience individualized care. No two people are the same, and similarly, my therapy approach is to provide therapeutic support that fits your unique situation!
I work with teens, young adults, and adults who struggle with many different challenges like life transitions, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
I utilize a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Narrative Therapy in a client-collaborative approach to help you on your unique journey. I also incorporate expressive art techniques that allow for creative insight and self-awareness, as well as parts work for untangling negative self-concepts.
I believe people grow and thrive when given the opportunity to discover their potential and inner strength. Curating a safe, strength-focused environment to help you grow and heal is extremely important to me!
Outside the therapy space, I spend time with my husband and three kids. I love art and photography, as well as running the beautiful trails of the PA wilds.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Many individuals feel like they are at war with their bodies. Whether it’s feeling shame, guilt, or giving ourselves critical comments about our bodies, we can be our own worst enemy. Our therapists can help you feel at peace with your body and learn to be kind to yourself.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Being a kid can be difficult sometimes. It’s a crucial developmental period of growth and change during which children learn about the world and themselves. This can be overwhelming to some children since many are still learning all the tools and skills to help them cope with their emotions and life’s stressors. This is where therapy can provide support.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
