Hello, I’m Gabby Peguero(she/her), a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and bilingual, Spanish-speaking therapist.
I have extensive experience in child welfare and behavioral health and have been committed to serving the Lancaster County community since earning my Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Millersville University in 2015. In 2023, I furthered my education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Social Work from Millersville University.
Since 2015, I have specialized in counseling children, teens, young adults, and adults for trauma, anxiety, depression, abuse, life transitions, racial identity, relationship problems, and other mental health and life-impacting experiences.
I also counsel for chronic pain/illness, anger management, bipolar disorder, body image, family conflict & dynamics, ODD, couples, marriage, sexual abuse, self-harm, spirituality, technology addiction, gifted youth & adults, perinatal/pregnancy, exhibiting inappropriate sexual behaviors, and more.
Throughout my career, I have developed extensive knowledge of community resources and services, allowing me to connect families and individuals with the support they need effectively. I believe in the power of collaboration and advocating for comprehensive solutions that prioritize the well-being of each individual in my care.
My journey has been deeply rooted in the belief that every person has the potential to heal and grow. I am passionate about you becoming the greatest version of yourself and healing the parts of yourself that may be holding you back. I view therapy as a brave and vulnerable act of self-love that requires courage and a commitment to personal growth.
My therapeutic approach is a strengths-based perspective, where I focus on the unique qualities and resources that each individual brings to our sessions. I believe that everyone has the ability to use their strengths to overcome challenges and create positive change.
I will incorporate various modalities during our sessions, including Parts Work, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a Person-Centered approach, Family Systems theory, Mindfulness techniques, and Motivational Interviewing. These tools allow me to tailor my approach to your needs and create a safe and supportive environment.
I understand that healing is not linear, and I respect that you are on a unique journey. My ultimate goal is to empower you to embrace yourself, find clarity, and move forward with confidence. I am here to support you on this courageous path toward self-discovery and healing.
I was born in New York City and moved to Lancaster County in 2003. My family is from the Dominican Republic, and I enjoy spending time with them and celebrating our unique and joyous culture. I also enjoy listening to music, traveling the country with my boyfriend, and supporting my children’s extracurricular activities. I love spending time with family and friends, but I also value those peaceful and quiet moments with a book!

Gabby Peguero offers in-person sessions at our Lancaster Downtown therapy office and online therapy sessions for children (6+) teens, young adults, and adults in Pennsylvania.
Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Many individuals feel like they are at war with their bodies. Whether it’s feeling shame, guilt, or giving ourselves critical comments about our bodies, we can be our own worst enemy. Our therapists can help you feel at peace with your body and learn to be kind to yourself.
Caregiving for a loved one can be challenging even in the best of circumstances. Often we don’t think about how the caregiver needs support, too. If you are experiencing burnout, our therapists can teach you skills to help you cope.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
It is important to understand that everyone’s experience with substance use is different; therefore, symptoms and consequences can differ. The levels of treatment also differ based on your usage and whether you seek support for substance use or have been diagnosed with an SUD.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
