Hi! I am Dr. Sierra Barnett-Hall (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD).
I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (with a minor in Art History!) from the University of Maryland, College Park. I then completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Northern Virginia. I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. I have worked in community mental health, private practice, specialty pediatric, and pediatric primary care settings.
Throughout my training and career, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients of all ages with a wide range of symptoms, challenges, and needs. I began my mental health career as a child and adolescent psychologist and have since transitioned to working with adults of all ages.
I primarily work with adults from the early 20s into middle to later adulthood. Having worked with such a variety of people with differing mental health concerns and needs over the years, I have found that I most enjoy working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress management, significant life transitions and changes, and perinatal/postpartum and infertility concerns. I also enjoy working with individuals to support health-related behavior and environmental changes to improve their overall health and well-being.
Recently, I have also begun to explore and focus on an even deeper passion of mine: working with mothers and parents struggling with the transition into parenthood, regardless of where they may be in that journey. Helping parents through all stages of parenthood, new or established, lights me up! I find it so fulfilling to connect and offer support through the parenting journey’s highs and lows. I have completed advanced training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum International and am working on my PMH-C certification.
My first focus in therapy is always to establish a positive therapeutic relationship and strong rapport with my clients. I firmly believe that a solid relationship is the foundation on which good therapeutic work and progress are built. I strive to provide a safe, open, compassionate, and collaborative environment where we work together to identify and tailor specific treatment needs and goals.
My eclectic therapy approach has strong roots in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused therapy, with some Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) mixed in. Most importantly, I am a human first, and you can expect a laid-back, authentic, and very “real” approach from me with a dash of humor mixed in.
I am “outdoorsy,” and I enjoy hiking and spending time outside with my husband and daughter. I also love animals, and we have two big dogs and three cats (who often make an appearance during my telehealth sessions!). I value movement and exercise, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, trying new coffee shops and restaurants, and exploring new places in the area. I am also a photographer and spend a lot of time exploring nature and the world around me with my camera.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Depression and anxiety are extremely common, but often under-diagnosed by medical providers during pregnancy and postpartum. Our providers have specialized training to help women with anxiety and depression in this specific period in their lives.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Struggling with infertility can be so difficult, especially if no one around you has experienced something similar. It can feel like an isolating journey and people find they often need support to navigate the emotional aspects of the process. Our therapists have specialized training to help you.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
