I’m Dr. Nicole Williams-Myers, a licensed Psychologist with experience providing therapy to clients of all ages since 2007. My goal is to provide ethical and professional care so that my clients may live daily in the service of their personal goals and values. I counsel only people aged 18 and older, except for Gifted Youth (see Therapy for Youth below).
Choosing a provider can be overwhelming, so I have included some background information about my training and experience to help you decide whether I am a good fit. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Developmental Psychology from Bryn Mawr College and completed a Pre-Doctoral internship in Professional Psychology at Friends Hospital. Over my career, I have mainly worked in a private practice setting, with about two-thirds of my clientele being adults and the remaining youth and families.
I am committed to creating a warm and comfortable environment to discuss your needs while upholding your dignity and right to privacy. As your therapist, I’ll provide current, evidence-based treatment that incorporates theories I utilize in therapy, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Family Systems, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Ecosystemic Family Structural Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and more.
I am available to work with parents and families of gifted children or adolescents under the age of 18 to facilitate support for the unique needs of this group of students.
Just as our work environments can shape our wellness, the school environment is important when treating youth. I have worked in private schools and consulted with private and public schools to provide therapy, interventions, and best educational practices for young clients. Additionally, I have specific training in supporting students’ unique social and emotional needs with Gifted Independent Educational Plans.
I am trained as a therapy provider who can treat many concerns across the lifespan, including the challenges of being a young adult. I specialize in helping you manage and reduce anxiety, stress, poor sleep, depression, and difficulty adjusting to work, school, or the demands of social situations. I also counsel for anger management, relationships, mood regulation, gifted youths & adults (emotional social), suicidal ideation, OCD, panic disorder, and more.
I look forward to meeting with you and working together to alleviate discomfort and create a change plan that fits your needs.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Many individuals feel like they are at war with their bodies. Whether it’s feeling shame, guilt, or giving ourselves critical comments about our bodies, we can be our own worst enemy. Our therapists can help you feel at peace with your body and learn to be kind to yourself.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
