About Courtney McComb

Hello, I’m Courtney McComb (she/they)!

I am an Intern Therapist while I work toward a Master’s degree in the Capella University Master’s of Mental Health Counseling program.  I am expected to graduate at the end of 2024!

I graduated from Marywood University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and have been a board-certified Music Therapist since 2020. In my experience as a Music Therapist, I’ve worked with a wide range of people of all ages and diagnoses, and I enjoy learning about and from the people I work with!

As a therapist, I believe that you already have all the tools you need to succeed, but sometimes guidance and collaboration are what we need to get to that point. It’s my hope to give you a space that’s free from judgment and focused on the strengths that you have and want. My belief is that every person is an individual and will need their own path towards self-improvement, and so our work will reflect that.

I counsel children, teens, young adults, and adults for many mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, birth/motherhood, trauma, traumatic birth/birth loss, infertility, and more.

Some of my favored techniques to incorporate into therapy are Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Art Therapy. I also offer play therapy for children. I want to offer a space for anyone to feel welcome and get the help they deserve!

Outside of work, I like to spend my free time being a couch potato with my cats, playing video games, or engaging in creative pursuits like writing and making music.
