Hello. My name is Beth Zagorski, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I obtained my Master of Social Work from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, in 2004. I chose social work because I am passionate about working in a field where I am given the opportunity to help others.
With almost twenty years working in human services, I have dedicated my career to working with children and adults experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including addiction, family conflict, and relationship issues. Currently, I counsel young adults (age 18 and older) and adults for anxiety, stress, trauma, PTSD, depression, grief and loss, co-occurring issues, domestic/family violence, childhood trauma, self-esteem issues, and self-harm. I help young adults and adults navigate many aspects of their emotions and behaviors to reach social, family, and mental health.
My goal is to help you overcome barriers that may make you feel “stuck” and help you work towards your own goals and solutions. I want to help empower you to learn tools to cope with your mental health concerns in a safe, nonjudgmental space using a collaborative approach.
I believe everyone can change and take positive steps to improve their lives. I believe everyone struggles from time to time, and extra support through therapy can be the key to navigating through a difficult time or making and sustaining changes. Each person is unique in their feelings and emotions; therefore, it is important to tailor treatment needs based on your needs and goals. I believe in meeting you where you are in your therapy journey. Whether you are ambivalent about making a change, ready to make a change, or need help to support you in maintaining your goals, I will help provide insight and motivation to empower you to move forward.
Because everyone is unique in their journey, I utilize a combination of different models of goal-oriented interventions tailored to you, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), aspects of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Having support through therapy can be the key to making strides toward goals and making and sustaining change.
I am from a small town in Western PA and recently moved back to Pittsburgh from Washington DC after living there for over 25 years to spend more time with my family and friends. I love to spend time with my silly cat Lucy, exploring the city, finding new places to dine, and finding interesting spots to meet up with friends. I enjoy traveling, binge-watching shows, and spending time outdoors, whether walking, hiking, or sporting events.

Beth Zagorski offers in-person therapy at the Pittsburgh therapy office and online(virtual) therapy to anyone in Pennsylvania.
Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Caregiving for a loved one can be challenging even in the best of circumstances. Often we don’t think about how the caregiver needs support, too. If you are experiencing burnout, our therapists can teach you skills to help you cope.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
