Hello, I’m Alexsandra Hawes (she/her).
Are you or someone you know struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, or a significant life change? Has this impacted your relationships and ability to communicate with others and caused a wedge of misunderstanding for your loved ones?
If you are looking for a way to address your internal struggle with self-worth and find your path to a healthier lifestyle or looking for a way to build healthy communication and understanding with your loved ones, then I want to help. I see you.
I am a Licensed Practicing Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy and Addictions at LaSalle University. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with individuals, adolescents, couples, and families to help them address relationships, communication, anxiety, life changes, depression, and the impact of addiction on everyone.
I am experienced working in family therapy outpatient programs with children, teens, young adults, adults, and couples, outpatient drug and alcohol treatment settings with adults, and the public school system with children and their families. I have also supported individuals who experienced past and present addiction, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, interpersonal conflicts, life stressors, and change of life transitions.
I currently have a CAADC and 10 years experience working in the field of addictions with individuals and families. I have knowledge but not limited to, the 12-step program, recovery dharma, the proactive 12 steps, and Trauma-informed CBT/ACT.
My focus is helping others find a path to balance and enhancing their practical communication skills. I help clients find personal purpose and create a healthier lifestyle. I believe in creating an open environment to explore the self.
I pride myself in building and learning with everyone to foster a nurturing environment that allows exploring the innermost conflicts and impacts they may have on outside relationships. Reach out for an appointment, and let’s get your path to balance and improved communications started together.

Alexsandra is an LSW Group Supervisor at Move Forward Counseling.
Alexsandra Hawes offers online therapy to anyone in Pennsylvania.
Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Struggling with infertility can be so difficult, especially if no one around you has experienced something similar. It can feel like an isolating journey and people find they often need support to navigate the emotional aspects of the process. Our therapists have specialized training to help you.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
It is important to understand that everyone’s experience with substance use is different; therefore, symptoms and consequences can differ. The levels of treatment also differ based on your usage and whether you seek support for substance use or have been diagnosed with an SUD.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
