About Abby Yearsley

Clinical Supervisor, Online Therapy Team

Hi, I’m Abby Yearsley(she/her)!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has worked in the mental health field for nearly ten years. My passion for helping others started when I was young, and I have been lucky enough to work with people from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Supporting Your Journey

Your journey is unique, and I hope to provide you with the support you need, whether by encouraging acceptance or promoting change. Your goals are my goals. Self-exploration is hard, and I can help you shoulder the burden by providing a non-judgmental, encouraging, and honest environment where we can learn and grow.

My Education & Background

I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University and have worked previously with inpatient substance abuse and dual diagnosis, residential programs, and outpatient therapy. I have experience with clients of all ages, socioeconomic statuses, genders, and ethnicities, though I specialize in working with young adults, mothers, and their relationships with families and partners.

I have provided therapy for children and teens in an outpatient setting before and during my time with Move Forward Counseling. Before outpatient, I worked in a residential program, group practice, and individual counseling for ages 12-18.  After that, I counseled children 5-12 in a therapeutic afterschool program.

Specialties and Techniques

My approach is typically very eclectic and individualized (no one else in the world is exactly like you)! I am certified in Maternal Mental Health and EMDR.  I am also trained in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Informed Therapy, and I often incorporate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Reality Therapy. I aim to utilize inclusive interventions that have concrete skills I can provide you with to increase your confidence and help you realize that you’ve got this!

About Me

I spend time with my daughter, husband, and pets when I am not in the office. I enjoy exercising, gardening, cooking, and home projects. I am passionate about living a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle while providing the space for indulging in the things I love. Animals and the outdoors are excellent stress relievers for me. I look forward to learning about the activities and interests you rely on to combat the crazy day-to-day that is life!
