Employee Assistance Program
(EAP) Service for Employers

Employee Assistance Program Overview

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a benefit that employers offer to their employees as part of the overall compensation package. It is a confidential counseling service to support the well-being of employees in the workplace and their personal lives. It is a voluntary service that provides assessments, short-term counseling, and referrals to other services after the EAP services have ended. Employees may seek counseling services to achieve wellness goals, such as life coaching and planning for life transitions.  Therapy is also for mental health concerns like perinatal/postpartum, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, trauma & PTSD, stress, grief, and more.

The Employee Assistance Program

Employers can customize an Employee Assistance Program service with MFC. For example, you can provide three employer-paid sessions per employee annually. After three sessions, employees may continue services by utilizing their health insurance or paying out of pocket. Continued services can be based on the therapist’s recommendation, provided by Move Forward Counseling, referred out, or ended.

Request a meeting with MFC to discuss your company’s specific goals and needs.

Return on Investment

An Employee Assistance Program can help employers reduce absenteeism, workers’ compensation claims, health care costs, accidents, and grievances. In addition, they can address safety and security issues, improve employee productivity and engagement, and reduce costs related to employee turnover.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that “all published studies indicate that EAPs are cost-effective.” The U.S. Department of Labor also says employers generally save anywhere from $5 to $16 for every dollar invested in an EAP.  The National Business Group on Health estimates that an average of  5.5% of employees utilize EAP benefits.
