Hi, my name is Shannon Rhoads. Throughout my career, I have worked with people from all walks of life and with various struggles, including brain injuries, anxiety, depression, perinatal/postpartum challenges, and folks navigating their sexual orientation and gender identity, to name a few.
Do you ever feel consumed by worry, stress, or sadness and could use some support with learning new ways to cope, feel grounded, or recognize the positives in your life?
Do you want to understand yourself better, feel more comfortable in your own skin, or boost your self-confidence?
Have you ever questioned who you are, what your value is, or how to enhance the quality of your relationships?
Have you or someone you love ever sustained a concussion, brain injury, or an unexpected life event, and you don’t know what to do?
I can provide a safe space for you to process, learn, and grow without judgment. I’ll meet you where you are, work with you to define your personal goals, and then challenge and help you take the necessary steps to achieve those goals. I will listen with empathy, compassion, and warmth. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I offer honest (and evidence-based) guidance with an extra kick of accountability. I have an eclectic therapeutic orientation and work from a strengths perspective that tends to be solution focused. Helping others live their best lives gives meaning and purpose to mine.
I find solace in nature (especially in fall), adore the smell of campfires, and have a thing for lifted Jeeps/trucks. I love to spend time with my wife, our spirited son, extended family, and friends. I am imperfect and doing my best to navigate life… just like you.
Shannon Rhoads is available to provide telehealth sessions to anyone in Pennsylvania.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Depression and anxiety are extremely common, but often under-diagnosed by medical providers during pregnancy and postpartum. Our providers have specialized training to help women with anxiety and depression in this specific period in their lives.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Move Forward Counseling is an inclusive practice where we want the LGBTQIA+ community to feel welcome and supported. Whether you are unsure how to embrace your identity, are having relationship issues, or need extra support from a non-judgmental person, we have therapists who can help.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
