Hello. My name is Maggy Parsons (she/her). I’m an Intern Therapist currently completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lebanon Valley College, and I am working toward graduation.
My goal is to provide you with the tools you need to navigate life transitions and personal challenges. I’ll help you develop resilience and foster meaningful connections with yourself and others.
I am dedicated to providing you with a safe, non-judgmental environment to explore and navigate any challenges you may be facing, including anxiety, depression, body image issues, grief, relationship difficulties, suicidal ideation, trauma, and PTSD. I am here to support you with empathy and understanding. I am committed to walking alongside you as you navigate life’s complexities, empowering you along the way.
My diverse professional experiences have enriched my therapy practice. I completed a transformative summer internship at a Sexual Assault Resource & Counseling Center, where I received specialized training in supporting people coping with trauma and developing skills to provide compassionate care in sensitive situations.
Additionally, my experiences at an inpatient mental health facility afforded me invaluable insights into counseling people for more acute mental health needs and fostering their recovery within a structured environment.
I believe therapy should be rooted in an individualized and collaborative partnership between me and my clients. I integrate elements of my training in Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma-Focused during sessions. Your therapy will be uniquely tailored to your needs, ensuring you receive the support and guidance that resonates with your journey.
Outside of working toward my Master’s degree, I like spending time with my loving yellow Labrador, Gilly, reading romance novels, and watching drama series like Locke and Key or The Rookie. I also love going to the gym, hanging out with friends, or creating calm spaces to relax whenever possible.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Many individuals feel like they are at war with their bodies. Whether it’s feeling shame, guilt, or giving ourselves critical comments about our bodies, we can be our own worst enemy. Our therapists can help you feel at peace with your body and learn to be kind to yourself.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
