My name is Gordon Bolig, and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government before finding my passion for mental health therapy. I completed my Master of Social Work degree from Millersville University in 2022.
My experiences include working in mental health outpatient and inpatient facilities addressing mental health and substance use disorders. I am most experienced in treating anxiety, depression, substance use, and PTSD.
I want my clients to leave sessions feeling better than when the session began. I emphasize the development of a knowledge base of the presenting issue and effective coping mechanisms, which will help clients overcome the issues for which they sought help. I use a collaborative style, where the client dictates the direction of our work together.
In my free time, I coach youth wrestling in the York area. I enjoy the exercise coaching provides and watching the growth of our young athletes. I also spend time outside, and I have recently taken up the hobby of bird-watching.

Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
