Note: Gabi will not be offering therapy services at MFC after January 30, 2026.
Hey there! My name is Gabi Brescia (she/her), and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) passionate about helping clients find healing, connection, and meaning through therapy.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from East Stroudsburg University and my Master’s degree in Social Work from Marywood University.
I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where you can move away from internalized shame and blame to explore what’s truly at the heart of your struggles. Together, we can work to identify unhelpful patterns, build insight, and develop adaptive, empowering coping tools. My personal healing journey has taught me how to navigate life’s stressors with greater grace, and I’ll bring that compassion and understanding into every one of our sessions.
I began my career in the mental health world as an outreach educator for law enforcement and community members, providing awareness, education, and understanding related to working with survivors of sexual violence. For a short period, I worked at the macro level with PCAR, contributing to statewide programming and legislation focused on sexual abuse prevention. I returned to direct clinical work, supporting uninsured and underinsured individuals while centering intersectionality, healing, and advocacy.
I provide therapy to teens (18+), young adults, and adults navigating a range of mental health challenges. My areas of focus include anxiety, stress management, depression, trauma & PTSD, sexual and domestic abuse, self-harm, life transitions, relationship issues, infertility, and counseling for mothers (i.e., perinatal, miscarriage, pregnancy, traumatic birth experiences, and postpartum). I also offer counseling for people with chronic pain/illness, divorce/separation, family conflict, grief, parenting issues, self-esteem, personal growth, and building a path for self-discovery and learning.
Starting therapy can be daunting – it takes courage to ask for help, and I honor that bravery. If you’ve landed on this page, you’ve already taken the first step, and I would be privileged to walk alongside you in your journey.
In our work together, you can expect warmth, humor, kindness, down-to-earthness, and authenticity. I tailor therapy to your needs using a blend of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Practices, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
All of my work is grounded in a trauma-informed, anti-oppression framework. You set the pace of your healing—I’ll be there to offer guidance, gentle accountability, a little bit of laugher and a lot of support every step of the way.
I strive to be a down-to-earth, genuine presence. Someone you can feel safe being your authentic, whole self around. Our sessions are a judgment-free zone where you’re encouraged to explore your emotions, thoughts, and goals in a way that feels right for you.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me laughing and enjoying time with my daughter, friends and extended family. I’m an avid fan of all things Disney; from the parks and movies to the shows and soundtracks. I love bringing a little bit of that magic and imagination into everyday life. I’m also a big football fan and spend my Sundays during the season cheering on the New York Giants.
Healing brings growth and the chance to become your truest self. I look forward to being part of your journey.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Depression and anxiety are extremely common, but often under-diagnosed by medical providers during pregnancy and postpartum. Our providers have specialized training to help women with anxiety and depression in this specific period in their lives.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Struggling with infertility can be so difficult, especially if no one around you has experienced something similar. It can feel like an isolating journey and people find they often need support to navigate the emotional aspects of the process. Our therapists have specialized training to help you.
