Hi! My name is Erica Roland (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a PMH-C.
I have been working in the mental health field since 2011 and have been practicing as an outpatient therapist since 2015. I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University. During my training, I have worked in outpatient treatment settings, crisis counseling, and inpatient hospitalization, which has exposed me to various mental health issues and diagnoses.
I am also a certified PMH-C specializing in Perinatal mental health counseling.
Working with various clients and mental health issues, I have found so much passion in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disturbances, significant life changes, difficulty coping with change, relationship stressors, and trauma. This has led me to explore a deeper passion of mine and work with individuals struggling with transitioning to parenthood, regardless of where they may be on that journey.
Mental health can affect our overall wellness during pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, or after experiencing trauma/loss during this particular phase of life. Being a therapist allows me to connect with people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives… and, hopefully, help recreate the sense of wholeness that has been missing.
My therapy style is eclectic, with foundations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy a collaborative approach to therapy, where we will both take an active role in the process. I do, however, recognize that there is stigma and uncertainty sometimes attached to seeking out mental health treatment, and my main focus is to meet my clients where they are at in the present moment. My first goal for treatment is always to provide a safe and comfortable environment that promotes a positive therapeutic relationship.
If this sounds like the type of therapy you’re looking for and you’d like to work together, call and schedule an appointment with me soon!
