About Norma Gonzalez

Hello! I’m Norma Iris Gonzalez (she/her/ella), a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and bilingual, Spanish-speaking therapist who provides individual therapy to people experiencing many mental health challenges.  Welcome to my page!

My Passion for Helping

I have over 16 years of professional experience in the mental health field. My passion for helping others stems from my own healing of trauma throughout my early life. As a young adult, I was fortunate to have met people who impacted, supported, and guided my journey towards healing! This has led me to desire modeling and giving back to a community that was there for me.

My Education and Experience

As a non-traditional student, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Lebanon Valley College while working full-time as a single mother. I then attained my Master’s of Social Work through Temple University.

I am a Certified Family-Based Therapist (CFBT).  I continue to gain knowledge and training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT-Informed), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Strength-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

How I Can Help

I counsel teens (18+), young adults, adults, and older adults (65+) for a variety of mental health challenges, including ADHD, anger management, domestic abuse, attachment issues, bipolar disorder, anxiety, body image, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), depression, family conflict, stress, divorce, codependency, grief & loss, life transitions, relationship issues, parenting, self-harm, sexual abuse, spirituality, suicidal ideation, trauma & PTSD, and more.

I have worked with family systems building communication in the home, drug, and alcohol outpatient, as well as mental health outpatient therapy. More recently, I have worked with helping victims of sexual assault heal holistically from their trauma.

My goal is to help you reach your healing potential and gain the skills necessary to find your healing power, knowledge, and confidence in living a healthier life.  I also offer health & wellness counseling to help you set and reach personal goals.
