About Lindsey Brown

Welcome. I’m Lindsey Brown, LAPC.

Who I Counsel

I work with teens (aged 13 and older), young adults, and adults navigating life-impacting challenges, including substance use, trauma, depression, parenting anxiety, and OCD. I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, so I will focus on creating a space where you can feel comfortable, heard, and not judged.

Other Specialties

I also counsel individuals for ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, anger management, BPD, chronic illness/pain, grief, relationship issues, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, phobias, perinatal/motherhood, sexual addiction, suicidal ideation, and more.

Approaching Therapy Together

During our first session, my goal is to approach it in a collaborative, down-to-earth way. We can explore what brings you to therapy at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Techniques In Therapy

I will use evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT-Informed) to help you better understand your thoughts, process past experiences, manage overwhelming emotions, and build coping skills that fit your day-to-day life.

With my years of experience and training, I offer a trauma-informed approach, which means I’m mindful of how past experiences can shape what you’re going through now. Whether you’re a teen dealing with stress, a parent feeling stretched thin, or an adult working through life transitions or recovery, we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

Background and Experience

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lock Haven University. I began my career working with individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

After completing my master’s degree, I transitioned into mental health care, facilitating PHP and IOP groups as well as providing individual therapy. I also have experience in trauma-informed care, perinatal and postpartum mental health and medication-assisted treatment.

Getting Started

You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in building the tools, insight, and confidence to move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
