Hello and welcome! I am Kristen Rose, Licensed Social Worker, LSW, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who counsels teens (16+), young adults (18+), and adults in PA.
Choosing a therapist is a personal decision. I believe feeling comfortable and connected is an important part of the healing process. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be themselves while also feeling supported to grow.
My style is compassionate and approachable, but I’m not afraid to gently challenge clients when it helps foster insight and meaningful change. I have found humor to be a powerful therapeutic tool, helping to find lightness and perspective even during difficult seasons.
I frequently work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, caregiver stress, and relationship conflict. Other areas I can help include life transitions, divorce/separation, postpartum depression, infertility, and parenting challenges.
Whether you’re navigating a significant life change, feeling overwhelmed by daily stressors, or hoping to better understand long-standing patterns, I will meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you to identify your strengths, build resilience, and develop practical tools for lasting change.
My approach to therapy is individualized because no two people—or their stories—are the same. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), person-centered therapy, and strengths-based interventions.
Together, we will create a treatment approach that aligns with your goals, values, and unique circumstances.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and graduated with my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University. Since earning my graduate degree and licensure, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals across the age spectrum. I began my career working in various mental health settings, most recently working in an emergency room as a medical social worker and at a hospice facility as an inpatient clinician.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband, our three children, and our dog, Baxter. I love vacationing at the Outer Banks, NC, or anywhere warm and tropical. I’m passionate about my faith, as well as fitness, health, and overall wellness. These interests reflect my belief that caring for our mental health is just one part of living a balanced, fulfilling life.
Whether you’re seeking support during a difficult season or working toward personal growth and wellness goals, I would be honored to partner with you on your journey.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Caregiving for a loved one can be challenging even in the best of circumstances. Often we don’t think about how the caregiver needs support, too. If you are experiencing burnout, our therapists can teach you skills to help you cope.
Depression and anxiety are extremely common, but often under-diagnosed by medical providers during pregnancy and postpartum. Our providers have specialized training to help women with anxiety and depression in this specific period in their lives.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Struggling with infertility can be so difficult, especially if no one around you has experienced something similar. It can feel like an isolating journey and people find they often need support to navigate the emotional aspects of the process. Our therapists have specialized training to help you.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
Reach out today to get started. Our supportive staff will help guide you through the scheduling process, discuss special requests and consult your insurance needs.
