Hello, I’m Jessica Nicolet, LAPC, NCC. Thank you for visiting my page.
As your therapist, I am fully invested in your health and well-being. I value creating an environment where you can feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I understand that reaching out for support can be a big step, and I am here to meet you exactly where you are, without judgment.
Whether you’re dealing with life transitions, stress, anxiety affecting the quality of your daily life, managing relationships, or seeking personal growth, I am committed to helping you navigate the challenges that matter most to you.
My counseling specialties include personality disorders, Bipolar Disorder, self-harm, suicide ideation, depression, behavioral issues, anxiety, anger, ADHD, addiction, attachment issues, ODD, and disordered eating.
I offer therapy to children (6 and older), teens, young adults, and adults. In addition to my specialties, if offer therapy for body image, attachment issues, family conflict, caregiver stress, and more. I provide a safe space for counseling individuals in the LGBTQIA+ and transgender communities.
Other mental health challenges that I can help you with are grief, postpartum, OCD, religious deconstruction, trauma & PTSD, and more. Ask scheduling about your specific needs to determine whether we are a good match for therapy.
In our work together, I will aim to foster a warm and collaborative space, tailored to your unique needs and goals. My role in therapy is to support and empower you, offering compassion as we help you build resilience and find a renewed sense of self.
I am dedicated to understanding your unique story and collaborating to explore strategies that support your personal growth and resilience. I mainly focus on creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported.
My theoretical orientation incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and the foundational principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Additionally, I utilize techniques of Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Based Therapy (SFBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. I am a firm believer that our thoughts are connected to our behavior. Using evidence-based interventions and techniques is a model I lean towards.
I have a Master’s degree from Capella University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am also a doctoral candidate in PhD Counselor Education and supervision at Capella University.
My work experience includes crisis counseling, partial hospitalization, inpatient mental health, and juvenile secure facilities. Throughout my training, I have had the privilege of working with a variety of clients and their conditions and disorders. I have experience in working with clients who experience suicidal ideations, self-harming behavior, and ongoing mood disorders, along with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, behavioral issues/modifications, and personality disorders.
Outside of session, I enjoy swimming, running, and hiking. I like to take trips visiting family and catching up with friends during any spare moment.
My goal is to provide compassionate, empathetic care to individuals seeking help. My goal is to establish a pathway for growth through support and accountability. I value exploring how to overcome challenges and work together to accomplish your goals for what you need in life to be confident, successful, and, of course, to build stability.
We can work together to create a strong foundation of skills and empowerment. I encourage you to try new things and ongoing discovery! Healing and growth are not a straight line; however, I will work alongside you no matter the circumstances!

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Caregiving for a loved one can be challenging even in the best of circumstances. Often we don’t think about how the caregiver needs support, too. If you are experiencing burnout, our therapists can teach you skills to help you cope.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Being a kid can be difficult sometimes. It’s a crucial developmental period of growth and change during which children learn about the world and themselves. This can be overwhelming to some children since many are still learning all the tools and skills to help them cope with their emotions and life’s stressors. This is where therapy can provide support.
Move Forward Counseling is an inclusive practice where we want the LGBTQIA+ community to feel welcome and supported. Whether you are unsure how to embrace your identity, are having relationship issues, or need extra support from a non-judgmental person, we have therapists who can help.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
Depression and anxiety are extremely common, but often under-diagnosed by medical providers during pregnancy and postpartum. Our providers have specialized training to help women with anxiety and depression in this specific period in their lives.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
