Hello, I am Megan Leinbach (she/her), a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) offering counseling to people age 13 and older in Pennsylvania.
I counsel teens, young adults, and adults in PA, and enjoy working with women, providing a compassionate space to explore challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, caregiver stress, life transitions, family estrangement/cut-off, and the unique stressors experienced by mothers and caregivers. I also offer specialized support in grief counseling, particularly for those coping with the loss of a child or sibling. Please ask our scheduling team to tell you about my full list of specialties if you are not seeing what you need support in.
No matter what brings you to my page today, my goal is to walk alongside you, helping you feel seen and understood, and to equip you with tools to move forward with greater clarity and strength.
My approach to therapy is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I integrate evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed strategies, Motivational Interviewing, and principles from positive psychology, to help clients build resilience, develop coping skills, and create meaningful change.
I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from Millersville University and continued professional training through doctoral coursework, with a focused concentration on parent bereavement, child loss, and family systems. This deep and ongoing commitment to learning supports my work with individuals navigating some of life’s most difficult experiences.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I have a deep love for growing things and caring for animals, whether it’s tending to plants in the garden or looking after the creatures that share my life. I find this nurturing work outside the office reminds me every day of how growth, patience, and care show up in all of our lives.
I fill multiple roles that are among my greatest honors: mother, grandmother, and my youngest son’s biggest sports fan. Being part of my family’s daily life brings me immense joy and perspective, continually enriching my understanding of the many transitions and identities we hold as adults. I cherish time spent with family and friends, and I also enjoy the serenity of quiet moments, especially reading, which helps me stay grounded and present.
These experiences, both personal and professional, shape not only who I am but also how I show up with clients: curious, compassionate, and mindful of the whole human experience.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you in therapy.

Whether you are suffering from panic attacks, obsessive – compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety we have therapists who use evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive-bahavioral therapy, to help you.
Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, is very treatable. Our therapists are specially trained to help individuals with depression get back to feeling like themselves again.
Move Forward Counseling is an inclusive practice where we want the LGBTQIA+ community to feel welcome and supported. Whether you are unsure how to embrace your identity, are having relationship issues, or need extra support from a non-judgmental person, we have therapists who can help.
Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
The period of adolescence can be exciting, but also challenging for many teens. Difficulties with friends, school, anxiety, depression, cutting, and substance abuse are all common issues for this group. Due to a lack of life experience, teens may not know how to manage these problems which is why therapy can be especially helpful.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
Many individuals feel like they are at war with their bodies. Whether it’s feeling shame, guilt, or giving ourselves critical comments about our bodies, we can be our own worst enemy. Our therapists can help you feel at peace with your body and learn to be kind to yourself.
Caregiving for a loved one can be challenging even in the best of circumstances. Often we don’t think about how the caregiver needs support, too. If you are experiencing burnout, our therapists can teach you skills to help you cope.
Depression and anxiety are extremely common, but often under-diagnosed by medical providers during pregnancy and postpartum. Our providers have specialized training to help women with anxiety and depression in this specific period in their lives.
