Hi, I’m Amy! (she/her)
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and a National Certified Counselor. I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling at Shippensburg University, and I have experience working in a partial hospitalization program, school-based therapy, college counseling, and private practice.
I often work with clients whose brains could use a break! I work with adults ages 18+ and commonly see clients struggling with symptoms of anxiety, ADHD, grief and loss, stress, identity exploration, and struggles with life’s transitions or direction. It’s easy for us to get stuck in the trap of self-criticism, worrying about what’s next, or doubting our abilities, and this can feel exhausting, overwhelming, and discouraging. You’ll find a non-judgmental space to feel heard and validated in your emotions with me. We’ll work on gaining self-insight, quieting the mind, and building up your self-compassionate, calming, and confident voice in response to life’s stressors.
I’m also trained in nature-based walk & talk therapy and offer this therapy option. I love opportunities to work with clients outdoors. Movement and nature can help enhance your mood, increase creativity and open-mindedness in finding solutions, and help you feel more grounded in the present moment.
I’m easily excited by exploring new hobbies and activities. My most recent passion has been taking salsa and swing dancing classes, and going out dancing with friends! I enjoy trying new yoga classes, any chance to be out on the water kayaking, and spoiling my dog, Maggie, with lots of walks.

Life transitions encompass many things, including starting or ending a romantic relationship, changes with work or school or making any big life change, such as a move. Often we underestimate how these changes will affect us emotionally until we find ourselves struggling with the ups and downs of the life transition.
While we don’t provide couples counseling at Move Forward, many individuals seek counseling to discuss how they can have healthier relationships. Our therapists can help you learn new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and other ways to have more positive relationships with others.
Trauma symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating for many who experience it. Recovery from trauma is possible and we have therapists who can help.
Moving into adulthood brings its own set of challenges. You may feel pressure to have a “career” or find your life partner. You may be unsure of making these big life decisions and may feel lost because you no longer have school or other adults in your life telling you what you should choose.
